1/48 Hasegawa F-14B, VF-103 Jolly Rogers

I finished my kit yesterday and it's the Hasegawa F-14B "60 years of Jolly Rogers" with a modified Aires "F-14A" pit (the "B"-pit wasn't available at that time) and TwoBobs decals. I was collecting hundreds of photos from the web and Brian Marbrey, and Steve Filak helped me a lot with the pictures of the pit.

I used MM enamels, artist's oils, pastel chalks...tools of the trade. Finishing the kit took me about two months, working on it only 2-3 days a week on a 3-5 hour basis. The bumps on the kit got a special treatment of ivory with a tiny amount of artist oils, so they match the photos I got. When it was done, I still felt that it lacks something and I scratchbuilt a display base within 6 hours. What can I say? I have finally my favourite aircraft in my display cabinet and I´m VERY happy, you can say this is my personal Birthday gift for my 30th! :)
